How to Remove Hair from Carpet

Many people think that the biggest problem around the house when pets are around are accidents that they will have inside the house. However, there is actually another major reason why cats and dogs are said to be a carpet cleaner's best friend. They often shed a great deal, and this leaves pet hair all over the carpet and embedded into it in a way that is extremely difficult for any pet owner to remove. Vacuum cleaners generally cannot reach them. However, there are a few ways that you can remove pet hair from your carpet.

How do I get Pet Hair out of Carpet?

  • Using a sponge mop: With this method, you would begin by vacuuming up the areas of the carpet you want to clean, and then moisten a sponge mop with some water. Run the mop over the areas of the carpet with a lot of pet hair. The mob will basically function as an agitator and bring the hair to the surface of your carpeting. Once you have done this, you can use a vacuum or just your hands to remove all of the clumps of pet hair that are now perfectly easy to remove.

  • Using fabric softener: In this method of carpet cleaning, you can blend three parts liquid fabric softener with one part water in an empty spray bottle. Shake it up, and spray the carpet with this mixture. After this, wait for it to dry. While it is drying up, the fabric softener will function to loosen the hair that has become embedded in the carpeting, and it will be easier to vacuum it up.

  • Using baking soda: In addition to cleaning carpet pet hair, using baking soda will deodorize the room. Sprinkle baking soda on your carpeting and then let it sit for a few minutes. Vacuum it up, and the pet hair will come with it.

  • Using alternative methods: In addition to the above trips, there are other methods that you can use. A new vacuum cleaner might actually help adequately. In addition, you can use a carpet rake to loosen not only pet hair but other particles from the hairs of your carpet. Static can also help remove the hair.

As you can see, there is a variety of interesting ways in which pet hair can be removed from your carpeting. This way, you can just enjoy having your pets without having to worry about their hair permanently becoming a part of your carpet.
